Iran: Eight heroines of an epic resistance in Ashraf

One of the most epic confrontations in the world's history of nationalist wars and liberation movements took place on April 8, 2011
, in Ashraf, Iraq, the seat of the Iranian opposition movement which is spearheaded by 1000 heroines.
The PMOI freedom fighters stood up to a column of ten armored, infantry, mechanized brigades and battalions of the Iraqi forces affiliated with Tehran's supreme leader Ali Khamenei, who attacked Ashraf City at the behest of the Iranian regime to massacre all of its defenseless residents, destroy the city and annihilate the opposition.
The freedom fighters, women and men, young and old, were empty handed without any shields. Their heads and hearts were targeted by snipers. At least 22 people were ran over by armored vehicles. Residential units were shelled. Iraqi troops did not allow the wounded to be taken to hospital.

Iran: Young woman attempts suicide

A 27-year-old woman committed suicide and lost her life in the city of Ahar (East Azerbaijan Province, northwestern Iran). It is not clear why she committed suicide.

This is the third case of suicide in the city of Ahar since the beginning of the Persian year on March 21, 2017.

Iran: Three female environmental activists are arrested

At least three women, environmental activists, were arrested by security forces in Marivan, Iranian Kurdistan. These women had staged a protest gathering against burying the city's waste in a tourist area called, Samaghan Valley.

Earlier, another twenty female environmental activists in Marivan had been arrested by security forces on March 18.

Situation in Syria Will Not Improve Until Iran Regime Is Expelled From the Country

NCRI - Earlier in the week we were once again subjected to media reports showing the terrifying and heart-breaking images of dying men, women, children and babies following a horrific chemical attack that was carried out by the Assad regime in Syria.

As well as the dozens of people that died it has been estimated that over 400 people were left with symptoms of poisoning by sarin gas. As has happened in the past, the cowardly perpetrators of the attack bombed the hospital where the victims (most of whom were women and children) were being treated.

Iran: Protests Following the Arrest of a Sunni Cleric

NCRI - The Public Prosecutor of Zahedan – South Eastern city, confirmed that the Sunni Leader of the Friday prayer of Sistan and Baluchestan pronvince has been summoned to the court. According to the news, Fazl Al-Rahman Kuhi is imprisoned in the security detention of Mashhad and his supporters had staged a protest in Sarbaz Town.

The Public Prosecutor of Zahedan, Ali Movahedi Rad in an interview with the journalist of the Judiciary claimed that the Sunni Leader of the Friday Prayer has been summoned to the Special Clerical Court since he had uttered controversial remarks about the domestic and international security of the Iran regime. It is noteworthy that this Sunni Leader is from Pishamag Village in the vicinity of Sarbaz Town, and he had been warned for several times earlier about his speeches.

Protests in Turkey Against Iran Regime's Meddling in Syria

NCRI - A large number of Turks rallied in front of the Iranian Embassy in Ankara on Friday, April 7th; protesting against murdering innocent Syrians. According to Anatolia News, the demonstrators were holding placards; strongly condemning the chemical attack carried out on Syrians by the Assad regime.

The demonstrators were also dressed in clothes that contained slogans against the Iran regime, Bashar al-Assad, and Russia. In the end, they also held a religious ceremony to commemorate those killed in Idlib, Syria.

Meanwhile, hundreds of Lebanese also staged protest in Tripoli against the massacre of Syrians the day before. The people in some cities of Turkey also held demonstration in solidarity with the people of Syria.

Ebrahim Raisi, the new candidate in Iran's presidential election

The candidacy of a cleric well known for his role in the atrocious crimes by the regime ruling Iran over the past three decades was announced.  Ebrahim Raisi, currently head of the massive Astan Quds Razavi entity in control of a sacred Shiite Muslim shrine, will be running for president in the May 19 polls.

While there are claims that this new development will unify the faction opposing the incumbent, President Hassan Rouhani, it is important to shed some light on Raisi's past to understand how, very similarly to Rouhani himself, this new candidate has played a major role in the mullahs' crimes.  One can also conclude that this is a prerequisite for any candidate taking part in any so-called election –  read: selection – held by the regime in Iran, thus rendering no change at all.

Raisi's announcement on Thursday, as reported by the semi-official Tasnim news agency, comes a day after two other members of the "hardliners" faction, former firebrand president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Tehran mayor Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, opted out.

Iran’s presidential election will be held on May 19th. Many in the West are interested to know if the so-called “reformist” Hassan Rouhani, the incumbent, will be reelected, or will he be replaced by a candidate of the “hardliners”? How will Trump's Syrian missile strikes affect tensions with Iran?

President Trump's decision to target the Syrian airfields used to carry out Tuesday's horrific chemical attacks may mark a major change in the direction of the six-year-old Syrian civil war. At the very least, it was a welcome break from the previous administration's penchant to let Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad off the hook for his war crimes. Still, it will be interesting to see how Trump's Syrian missile strikes affect tensions with Iran.

Iran opposition unveils secret IRGC tactics

As the new Trump administration in Washington continues to weigh how to confront Tehran’s hostilities carried out through its Revolutionary Guards (IRGC), the Iranian opposition, National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) held a press conference in London on Tuesday shedding important light on methods used by the IRGC to cloak its export of terrorism and smuggling activities.

According to information gathered by sources associated with the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) inside Iranian regime apparatus, the Guards currently own 90 docks, mainly on Iran’s southern shores. This accounts for around 45 percent of the 212 piers officially registered in Iran.
